XBT (BTCB2) Pool Setup: Blake2b ASIC Shares and Payout Checks
Naming update — September 16, 2026: In this guide, XBT refers to the Bitcoin BLAKE2b fork also labeled BTCB2 by some mining pools and services. It is separate from Bitcoin’s SHA-256 network. Because XBT is also used as a Bitcoin ticker elsewhere, identify the network by its BLAKE2b context and the service’s network documentation, not by the ticker alone. This naming check does not refresh the September 8 hardware, pool-setting or profitability evidence below.
Evidence reviewed September 8, 2026. This is a review of published project, pool and hardware information. No BT-Miners miner connection, accepted-share, credited-reward or payout test is claimed.
BTCB2 here means Bitcoin BLAKE2b, an independent chain using BLAKE2b proof of work. It is not ordinary SHA-256 Bitcoin (BTC) or Siacoin (SC). This guide covers configuration and verification; the XBT (BTCB2) mining guide covers network background and hardware selection.
Which miners should you test?
Start with exact-model evidence. AlphaPool explicitly names BM-S3+ and HS5 in Sia mode; the project names SC5 Pro and SC Lite. B2Pool explicitly names BM-S3 and BM-S3+. SC5 Pro II remains pending verification; do not transfer evidence from SC5 Pro. Use the model comparison before selecting hardware.
Compatibility labels: BT-Miners tested requires an identifiable store test record; Pool/project-listed means the exact model is named in current documentation; Pending verification means only algorithm or specification evidence is available; Not compatible requires explicit conflicting hardware/protocol evidence. No device in this review is labeled BT-Miners tested.
Published pool settings
The following settings were read on September 8, 2026. They are documentation checks, not live miner tests. Recheck the linked pool page before making a configuration change.

Both pools document a chain-specific payout address followed by a dot and worker name, with x as the password. Obtain the address from a wallet supporting this independent chain. A familiar bc1 format does not establish Bitcoin mainnet compatibility. Do not use an exchange BTC address unless that service explicitly supports this network.
AlphaPool advertises PPLNS; B2Pool currently advertises TIDES for shared mining. Review fees, maturity rules and thresholds directly on each pool. This guide does not rank their reliability or verify their payment history.
Verify four separate stages

Controlled test procedure
- Save your existing SC pool settings and identify the exact unit and firmware.
- Confirm power, cooling and the Sia/BLAKE2b mode; Handshake and SHA-256 modes are unsuitable.
- Configure one worker using the currently documented hardware-specific endpoint.
- Record miner-side and pool-side shares, errors, hashrate interval and wall power separately.
- Wait for actual reward credit and a confirmed payout before treating the entire setup as verified.
- Restore the saved SC settings if the test fails or exceeds your predefined power/time budget.
Troubleshooting
BM-S3+ failed before? Recheck the current 7777 port. A historical failure on a different endpoint does not establish current incompatibility.
Connected but all shares rejected? Check the exact algorithm first, then firmware, work mode, protocol and pool requirements. A SHA-256 Bitcoin ASIC cannot hash BLAKE2b work.
Worker visible but no payout? Check pool accounting, maturity and threshold rules. Keep connection, credit and payment evidence separate.
Can SC5 Pro II use the SC5 Pro result? No. Obtain evidence for the exact Pro II revision and selected variant. Its algorithm makes it a candidate, not a verified BTCB2 miner.
Income and next steps
BTCB2 earnings estimates are unavailable here. SC calculator results remain SC estimates; no BTCB2 price, liquidity, revenue or payback is assumed. Older September 3 pool telemetry has been removed from the current instructions because it is not a live baseline.
