XBT mining reward locks make cash flow just as important as hashrate. For iBeLink and Goldshell owners, the practical question is how long electricity, hosting and maintenance can be paid before newly mined coins become spendable. A stronger efficiency rating helps operating costs; it cannot remove a network maturity rule.
Research checked October 22, 2026. In this article, XBT means the independent Bitcoin BLAKE2b chain, also called BTCB2 by some services. It does not mean SHA-256 Bitcoin (BTC) or Siacoin (SC). Because XBT is also used as a ticker for Bitcoin elsewhere, always verify the actual network.
XBT Mining Reward Locks: What Is Confirmed?
その Bitcoin Knots 29.4.2 リリースノート describe a 45-day maturity change and explicitly say a further extension requires another update. The merged implementation, PR #419, distinguishes consensus enforcement between heights 973,440 and 979,920 from a rolling 6,480-block policy maturity. Calendar-day labels are approximations when block production varies.
PR #429, the one-year proposal, remained open when checked. It proposes keeping affected rewards unspendable until the RDTS expiry condition, using parent median time past of September 1, 2027, while applying a separate one-year policy and wallet delay. Those are distinct mechanisms, not a simple promise that every reward unlocks exactly 365 calendar days after mining.
Other proposals also remained under discussion: a rolling 6,480-block rule, a 180-day alternative, an approximately 280-day alternative. A poll, pull request or test result alone does not establish what every pool and node enforces. Confirm the software release, chain tip and rules used by the service receiving your hashrate.
For planning below, 45 and 365 days are funding scenarios, not a verified countdown to withdrawal. This October update builds on our earlier explanation of the 45-day reward lock, with a focus on machine selection and electricity reserves.
Four Stages Between Hashing and Paying the Electricity Bill
A miner can be working correctly while its operator has no cash available from that work. Track these stages separately:
- 採用された作品: the pool or gateway accepts shares. This confirms useful submitted work, not final revenue.
- Reward allocation: a pool credits a balance, or an on-chain coinbase output assigns a reward to an address.
- 支出性: applicable consensus and wallet rules permit the coins to move.
- Usable proceeds: a transfer, sale and settlement actually deliver funds that can pay operating bills.
A dashboard estimate is not a bank balance. Even after maturity, market liquidity, fees, price changes and settlement availability can affect proceeds. A pool could advance payment from its own funds under separate terms, but doing so would not unlock the underlying immature coinbase output.

Compare Hardware by Efficiency and Total Power Draw
The following are nominal store ratings for the listed Siacoin configurations, checked against the linked product pages. They are not measured XBT performance or promised XBT earnings. Exact model, batch, firmware, pool protocol and operating mode still matter.
| 鉱夫 | 公称ハッシュレート | 名目上の力 | Calculated efficiency |
|---|---|---|---|
| iBeLink BM-S3+ | 25 TH /秒 | 3,400 W | 136.0 J / TH |
| iBeLink BM-S3 | 19 TH /秒 | 3,100 W | 163.2 J / TH |
| ゴールドシェル SC5 プロ II | 14 TH /秒 | 3,300 W | 235.7 J / TH |
| ゴールドシェルSC-BOX II | 1.9 TH /秒 | 400 W | 210.5 J / TH |
The BM-S3+ uses about 16.6% less energy per unit of nominal hashrate than the BM-S3, yet draws 300 W more per machine. That is the distinction between efficiency and the size of an electricity bill. The SC-BOX II has a much smaller absolute power requirement, but its lower hashrate does not make locked rewards liquid or guarantee a better return.
The iBeLink listings report BT-Miners owner confirmation of usability on AlphaPool; this does not establish support on every pool or every new gateway configuration. The SC5 Pro II listing retains an exact-model verification caveat. Confirm the configuration before ordering, especially when selecting a different variant from a product dropdown.
For an existing installation, measure wall power and pool-side accepted hashrate. For a new purchase, include purchase price, condition, repair exposure and electrical installation in the comparison. A 3.1–3.4 kW continuous load requires a suitably rated circuit and adequate heat removal; a low headline purchase price can be outweighed by installation and operating costs.
How Much Electricity Funding Does a Delay Require?
Use this electricity-only planning equation: power in kW × 24 hours × days × electricity price per kWh. The example below assumes continuous operation at nominal power and an illustrative rate of 0.10米ドル/kWh. It excludes equipment purchases, cooling beyond miner power, hosting charges, repairs, taxes and financing.
| 鉱夫 | 毎日のエネルギー | Daily electricity | 45-day reserve | 365-day reserve |
|---|---|---|---|---|
For ten BM-S3+ units, the annual electricity-only funding requirement in this scenario is $29,784. At USD 0.06/kWh, multiply the table by 0.6; at USD 0.15/kWh, multiply by 1.5. These figures measure required funding, not profit, loss or expected revenue.
Annual energy should also be calculated consistently: a 400 W machine running continuously uses 3,504キロワット in 365 days. At 950 W, the same calculation gives 8,322キロワット. Lower annual totals require an explicit assumption about reduced runtime or power mode.
Build a separate reserve for non-electricity expenses. If a hosting invoice already includes electricity, avoid counting that energy charge twice. Immature rewards should not be treated as available funding in the operating budget. Continue checking the budget after rewards begin to mature: a rolling delay can leave a continuing inventory of unavailable rewards.
Pool Changes Matter: AlphaPool Has Moved to DATUM
その legacy AlphaPool page now says that pool is closed and directs miners to AlphaPool DATUM. It states that legacy rewards will be paid when spendable under the network maturity schedule. Do not copy an old setup screenshot and assume its endpoint still accepts work.
The new service describes payments directly through block coinbase outputs instead of a custodial pool balance. Direct assignment changes who controls the reward; it does not bypass coinbase maturity. A wallet can receive an immature output long before that output becomes spendable. Follow the current service instructions and our XBT DATUM node and pool setup guide when preparing a configuration.
Before moving a machine, record the old worker, credited balance and payout history. Ask which chain rules the destination enforces, which firmware and work mode it supports, how rewards are allocated, and how old balances are handled. Test one unit before moving a fleet.
A Practical Decision Framework for Existing Miners
If Electricity Bills Depend on Immediate Mining Sales
A long reward delay creates a funding mismatch even when a dashboard shows attractive estimated revenue. Compare continued operation with a supported alternative network, a reduced allocation, or pausing the equipment. Any alternative needs its own payout and operating-margin check; switching to SC does not automatically make the machine profitable.
If You Can Fund an Extended Experiment
Set a maximum cash budget and a review date before starting. Include the possibility that reward rules change again or the eventual sale price is substantially lower. Use only the portion of capacity whose operating expenses can be funded independently. Do not scale solely because a short test produces accepted shares.
If You Are Buying Hardware Now
Choose the power requirement, installation and supportable configuration first. Then compare efficiency and purchase cost. A compact miner can limit absolute electricity exposure; an industrial miner can improve nominal energy efficiency. Neither choice solves maturity risk. Ask BT-Miners to confirm the exact model and current pool setup rather than treating an algorithm label as an end-to-end compatibility guarantee.
Before Switching a Miner Between SC and XBT
- Save the working configuration and old balance records.
- Create a fresh wallet specifically for the intended BLAKE2b chain. Similar address formatting does not prove the same network; do not reuse a seed holding BTC.
- Confirm the exact hardware model, supported firmware, algorithm mode, gateway requirements and current pool instructions. SHA-256 ASICs cannot become BLAKE2b ASICs by changing a pool URL.
- Test one machine and verify accepted shares, recorded rewards and the receiving address separately.
- Record the maturity status and applicable chain rules. If spending is not yet possible, leave payout verification marked incomplete.
- Confirm the electricity reserve before increasing capacity. Keep a tested rollback configuration for the original supported network.
Switching away does not accelerate maturity of rewards already earned. Keep the relevant wallet backups and historical records even after a worker has stopped.
よくある質問
Is a one-year XBT reward lock already confirmed?
As checked October 22, 2026, PR #429 remained open and the latest listed reference release was 29.4.2, whose notes describe a 45-day change. This does not verify the rule used by every independently operated node or pool. Check the exact software and chain rules before mining.
Can a pool remove the XBT mining reward lock?
A pool cannot make an immature coinbase output spendable against consensus rules. It may offer separate advance-payment terms using other funds, but that is different from unlocking the underlying reward. DATUM direct coinbase payments also remain subject to maturity.
Does a more efficient miner need a smaller electricity reserve?
Only when the compared workload is equivalent. The BM-S3+ has better nominal efficiency than the BM-S3 but draws more total power per unit. Use measured power and runtime to calculate the cash reserve for your actual installation.
Does a Siacoin rating prove XBT compatibility or income?
No. A Siacoin hashrate and wattage rating is not an XBT benchmark. Confirm the exact model, firmware, pool or gateway support, accepted work and reward handling. Do not interpret a calculator for another network as an XBT earnings forecast.
