Receber BTCB2 mining payouts, install a compatible Bitcoin Knots release, create a new wallet dedicated to this chain, and use its receiving address in your pool settings. This Windows walkthrough follows the original setup screenshots, from the installer to the payout address.

BTCB2 refers here to the BLAKE2b fork chain. Keep it separate from SHA-256 Bitcoin (BTC): a familiar-looking address or a BTC label in the application does not establish that two services use the same network. This guide covers a fresh mining wallet, not claiming coins with an existing Bitcoin wallet.

The screenshots come from the supplied BTCB2 setup guide. Some menus are in Chinese and some images show an earlier release candidate. English button names below explain the sequence; exact wording can vary by build.

Use a Windows computer with an SSD, a reliable internet connection, and room for blockchain data. Choose a separate installation location and a dedicated data directory so this setup does not reuse an existing Bitcoin wallet or node database. Do not import private keys or a seed from a wallet holding BTC.

1. Download the compatible Bitcoin Knots release

Abra o oficial Bitcoin Knots 29.4.1 release page. Its notes list the BLAKE2b consensus change and Windows 10 or later support. Read the release notes and select the Windows installer appropriate for your computer; verify the download using the checksums and signature information supplied by the project.

The first source screenshot shows a test/rc5 directory. It documents the original installation, but this guide directs new installations to the published release page instead of treating that test directory as the default download.

2. Install the Windows application

Run the downloaded installer and click Seguinte. Select the installation folder, continue to the Start Menu selection, and click Instale. If you already run another Bitcoin application, check the paths carefully before proceeding.

When installation finishes, leave Run Bitcoin Knots selecionado e clique Acabamento. The first launch will ask where to store node data.

3. Choose the data directory and storage settings

Select a dedicated folder on an SSD for this node. The data directory holds the blockchain and wallet-related files; putting only the program files on an SSD does not move the blockchain data there.

The source document suggests a block-storage target of approximately 2 GB. Treat this as a pruning target, not the total disk-space requirement. Chainstate, indexes, wallet files, and other data need additional space. Pruning removes older block files after validation; it does not eliminate the initial download and verification work. Leave sufficient free space beyond the target. See the full-node storage explanation for the underlying concept; exact requirements depend on the build and chain.

4. Let the node synchronize

Clique OK to begin synchronization. Initial progress depends on network connectivity, storage performance, and how much history the node must validate. Keep the computer connected and allow the process to continue.

The following screenshots show successive synchronization screens. Clicking Esconder dismisses the progress window; it does not mean synchronization has finished. Header progress and complete block validation are different stages.

You can continue to the wallet-creation screen when the interface allows it. Before treating a displayed balance as current, check that the node has caught up with the intended BTCB2 chain.

5. Crie um novo BTCB2 wallet and protect the backup

Clique Crie uma nova carteira. Enter a descriptive name such as BTCB2 Mining, selecione Encrypt WalletE clique Criar. Use a fresh wallet for this setup.

Enter and confirm a strong passphrase, then read the encryption confirmation before accepting it. Losing the passphrase can prevent you from spending funds in the encrypted wallet.

Back up the wallet before sending payouts to it. Use the wallet backup function in your installed version and keep a protected copy away from the mining computer. The backupwallet documentation describes a wallet-file backup. A receiving address, QR code, screenshot, or remembered wallet name is not a replacement for the wallet backup and its passphrase.

6. Generate your receiving address

Abra Recebimento. Enter a label such as BTCB2 Pool Payouts, select the address type required by your pool, and click Solicitar pagamento. The source screenshot displays several address options; do not assume every option is supported by your chosen pool.

AlphaPool currently requests a native SegWit bc1 receiving address from a fresh wallet dedicated to this chain. Copy your own address from the payment request window. Recheck the pasted address against the wallet before saving it elsewhere.

7. Add the address to the mining configuration

The original screenshot shows an AlphaPool Singapore endpoint in a miner control panel. AlphaPool documents the worker format as your-payout-address.rig-name. Use your own address and a recognizable rig name, then check the current pool instructions for the endpoint, password value, and hardware-specific port. Its guidance distinguishes port 5555 from port 7777 for iBeLink BM-S3+ and other Sia-firmware devices.

Follow the current AlphaPool connection and wallet instructions; the screenshot is a reference, not a configuration to copy unchanged. The secondary resource entry belongs to the example environment.

Save the settings and check that the pool sees your worker and accepted shares. If you use another pool, follow its own account and payout-address workflow. A field named Trabalhador is not universally a wallet-address field.

8. Verify payouts before moving funds

The final screenshot shows a saved payment request in the Receive tab. A payment-request entry is not proof of a received payout. Check actual wallet transactions and the pool payout record, and confirm that both refer to the same address and network.

If the pool reports a payout but the wallet shows no balance, check synchronization, the selected wallet, the exact address, and the payout transaction on the correct chain. An unsent pool reward and a confirmed on-chain payment are different states.

Before transferring to any exchange, confirm that it explicitly supports BTCB2 deposits on this network and that deposits are enabled. Do not send BTCB2 to an ordinary BTC deposit address based only on a matching address format. This guide does not verify or recommend a trading venue.

A practical handoff for mining operators

Keep a setup record with the wallet label, public receiving address, node version, pool endpoint, worker name, and backup location. Store passwords and wallet secrets separately. This makes troubleshooting easier when the person maintaining the miner is not the person handling payouts.

No. Generate and use your own address. The screenshots illustrate the process and do not provide a payout destination for your miner.
